Lost Circulation Material PLUG

Lost Circulation Material PLUG is a water swellable but not water soluble, 100% crystalline synthetic polymer. Plug polymer absorbs hundreds of times its own weight in water. It is intended for use primarily as a lost circulation material for horizontal directional drilling.

Lost Circulation Material PLUG rapidly absorbs hundreds times its own weight in water without massive expansion in volume.Lost Circulation Material PLUG is primary intended as a lost circulation material for Horizontal Directional Drilling and can also be used to reduce rod vibration in bores with lost returns. Lost Circulation Material PLUG prevents inadvertent returns in river crossing drilling work and acts as a stabilizer in boreholes which have poorly consolidated formations of cobble and gravel.

Recommended Treatment:

Add PLUG in concentrationof 0 to 24.0 kg/m³ (4.2 to 8.4 lb/bbl) of fresh water or the drilling fluid before being pumped down into the cavity or when spotted across the thief zone. When using Plug in diamond coring ensure the tube has been retrieved, the suction as well as any other internal pump screens have been removed before .
